2012 meetings

At the meeting held 17 March 2012, three new members completed the ceremonies of Knight of the East and West. Ex. Sir Knight Bruce Forster was then Installed as Excellent Chief of the Council.

A Board of Management meeting was held 15 June.

A new member was admitted to the degrees of Knight of the Sword and Knight of the East on Saturday 15 September 2012.

A Special Meeting of the Council is to be held 24 November 2012 to admit two new members and to elect Officers for 2013.

Meeting on 26 November 2011

The Council held a special meeting on 26 Nov 2011, during which the Immediate Past Excellent King of the Royal Arch Chapter was admitted as a Knight of the Sword and Knight of the East.

Sir Knight John Andrews, an esteemed member and a retired operative mason, passed away suddenly on August 16, 2011.

March 2011 meeting

At its March 2011 meeting Duke of Leinster Council No.93 worked the degrees of Knights of the East and West, welcoming three new members. Sir Kt Rodney Clark was installed as E.Chief. Our new Excellent Chief is a Past Master of St Andrew's Lodge No.19 (South Australian Constitution) and a Past King of Duke of Leinster Royal Arch Chapter No.363 IC which also meets in Adelaide. A founder member of Duke of Leinster Council, he became a Knight Mason in Esdras Council No.90 several years ago.

Members and several partners enjoyed a happy lunch at the Prince Albert Hotel afterwards.

The Council has two candidates for the degrees of Knight of the Sword and Knight of the East, to be worked at the next meeting in September.

Members were pleased to receive copies of the latest issue of the Order's magazine, "The KM Trowel".

Samuel R A Hogg Council No.39

Samuel RA Hogg Council No.39 was constituted in Bendigo, Victoria on Saturday 2 October by the ME Great Chief, ME Sir Knight Bernard VA Woods, assisted by ME Sir Knight Michael Ward and members from Victoria and South Australia.

March meeting 2010

The meeting held Saturday 20 March 2010 proceeded well (luckily there was a screen for the main door of the lodge room, affording privacy from the remaining portion of the anteroom in use as a polling room for the State Elections!).

Five members were admitted as Knights of the East and West, then as Knight Masons, following which the Installation Ceremony was held. Michael Beck is the new Chief. The Council has a new Scribe - for contact details please see at right.

Meeting Saturday 19 September

We enjoyed a happy meeting, admitting three new members as Knights of the Sword and Knights of the East, and electing Officers to be installed at our next regular meeting on 20 March 2010.

Afterwards we joined family members for lunch.

The photograph is of the Safavid bridge at Behistun, on the road between Babylon and Ecbatana (in the present day, Hamadan in Iran).

Behistun (or Bisotun) is a small village at the foot of a precipitous rock, 1700 ft. high, in the centre of the Zagros range in Iran on the right bank of the Samas-Ab, the principal tributary of the Kerkha (Choaspes). On the steep face of the rock, some 80 metres above the plain, Darius I, king of Persia, caused to be engraved a great cuneiform inscription 12 ft. high, which recounts the way in which, after the death of Cambyses, he killed the usurper Gaumata, defeated numerous rebels, and restored the kingdom of the Achaemenidae. Above the inscription the image of Darius is graven.

Council constituted 20 September 2008

The Duke of Leinster Council No.93 was constituted by the Great Chief on Saturday 20 September 2008. Subsequently the Deputy Great Chief installed the first Chief of the new Council, after which officers were invested and installed.

A celebratory banquet followed at the Prince Albert Hotel, Wright Street, Adelaide.
